Solution 1: Delete or Send Email From Outbox

  • Step 1:On your Outlook 2016 application, open the Outbox folder and select the email that has been stuck.
  • Step 2:Double-click the email and click Send at the top-left corner to send the email to your recipient.
  • Step 3:If you wish to delete the email, make a right-click on it in the Outbox folder and select the Delete option.

Solution 2: Check For Offline Mode

  • Step 1:When in Offline mode, Outlook can easily delete emails that are hard to delete in Online mode. However, make Outlook is online once you have deleted the email stuck in Outbox.
  • Step 2:To begin with, launch Outlook in Safe Mode by double-clicking the shortcut icon on the desktop while pressing down the Ctrl key.
  • Step 3:If prompted, click Yes to start Outlook in Safe Mode.
  • Step 4:Next, click the Send/Receive button at the top and select the Work Offline option.
  • Step 5:Verify that your Outlook status has changed to Offline mode.
