If you have entered the wrong credentials during the email message configuration, it may also lead to the POP3 error. Before proceeding with the advanced troubleshooting methods, check if your system contains any virus or corrupted registry files. 
  • To check it, proceed with the simple, quick steps given below.
  • Launch the antivirus software installed on your system.
  • Click the Full Scan button.
  • Wait for the antivirus software to complete the scanning process.
  • Once the scanning is done, perform the on-screen instructions to remove the detected virus.
  • After that, restart your computer and try sending a test email message.
  • If the POP3 error occurs even after your system is fully protected, check your email account settings.

  • Navigate to the Information section.
