Enabling The POP or IMAP Access

  • Step 1:Sign in to your Gmail account.
  • Step 2:Click on the Gear icon.
  • Step 3:Choose the Settings option.
  • Step 4:Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  • Step 5:For IMAP: Go to the IMAP access section. Select the Enable IMAP option by clicking the radio button beside it.
  • Step 6:For POP: Navigate to POP Download. Locate and select the Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on option.
  • Step 7:Click on the Save Changes button.

Steps To Add Gmail To Outlook 

For Windows:

  • Step 1:Launch the Outlook application.
  • Step 2:Click on the File menu.
  • Step 3:Select the Add Account option.
  • Step 4:Now, a dialog box prompting you to enter your email address will open.
  • Step 5:Type your Gmail account’s email address in the given field.
  • Step 6:Click on the Connect button.
  • Step 7:Now, type your account password in the Sign in with your Google Account dialog box.
  • Step 8:Click on the Sign-in button.
  • Step 9:Follow the on-screen instructions to reach the Microsoft apps & services would like to window.
  • Step 10:In the opened window, click on the Allow button.
  • Step 11:Once your Gmail account is added to the Outlook client, the “Account successfully added” message will appear on the screen.
  • Step 12:Click on the Done button.
  • Step 13:Now, try to send a test mail to check whether your Gmail account has been added successfully to Outlook.
  • Step 14:If you don’t receive the test mail after the add Gmail account to Outlook, then re-perform the above steps.

For Mac:

  • Step 1:Open the Outlook application.
  • Step 2:Go to the Preferences section of Outlook.
  • Step 3:Select the Accounts option.
  • Step 4:In the Accounts window, click plus (+). Then select New Account.
  • Step 5:Now, in the Please enter your email address dialog box, type your Gmail account’s address and click on the Continue button.
  • Step 6:Similarly, type your account password in the given field.
  • Step 7:Click on the Add Account button followed by Continue.
  • Step 8:Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the configuration.
  • Step 9:Once it is done, the Account is added message will be displayed on the screen.
