Solved: How To Configure Aol Pop Server Settings

When you add your AOL account to an e-mail client, you should also configure the outgoing and incoming server settings. POP3 (Post Office Protocol) is one of the incoming server protocols used by e-mail clients to retrieve mails from the mail server. When you configure your AOL account with the POP incoming server, you can access the e-mails offline. Synchronizing your AOL account with the POP protocol enables you to download a copy of your e-mail from your AOL mail account. Moreover, if you delete an e-mail from your AOL account, a copy of the downloaded e-mail remains in the app. If you want to configure your e-mail client with POP server settings to connect with your AOL mail, navigate to the server settings of your e-mail client and update the outgoing and incoming server settings as mentioned below.

How To Configure Aol Pop Server Settings

Incoming E-mail configuration

  • Step 1:Enter the AOL Mail POP3 server address as pop.aol.com.
  • Step 2:Enter the AOL Mail POP user name as your complete AOL mail address (userename@aol.com).
  • Step 3:Enter the AOL Mail POP password as your complete AOL mail password.
  • Step 4:Enter the AOL Mail POP port as 995.
  • Step 5:Finally, enable the TLS/SSL encryption.

Outgoing E-mail configuration

  • Step 1:When you configure your AOL account with POP server settings, you should configure the outgoing server settings. You can configure the outgoing server settings with SMTP, just as mentioned below.
  • Step 2:In the SMTP Outgoing Server Address field, enter smtp.aol.com. Now, set the port as 465 and enable the SSL type of encryption.
  • Step 3:In the SMTP Username field, enter your AOL user id (username@aol.com)
  • Step 4:In the SMTP Password field, enter the password you use to log in to your e-mail client account.

Now, you have successfully configured your AOL mail account with the POP server settings.
