How To COnfigure Bellsouth Email Settings?

Bellsouth email is one of the free email services provided by AT&T. You need the Bellsouth email settings to configure your account manually on third-party email clients. In case you wish to configure your Bellsouth email account in Outlook, you need these details.

  • Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.att.net
  • Server port number: 993
  • Incoming mail server (POP): inbound.att.net
  • Server port number: 995
  • SSL required: Yes
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.att.net
  • Server port number: 465 or 587

Steps to configure your Bellsouth email settings in Outlook 2016:

  • Step 1:On your computer, launch Microsoft Outlookby double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop
  • Step 2: Navigate to the top-left corner and click the Filemenu.
  • Step 3: Select the Infooption from the left-side panel and click the Add Accountbutton.
  • Step 4:In the Add Accountwindow, select the Manual setup or additional server typesoption and click Next.
  • Step 5:Enable the radio button POP or IMAPand click Next.
  • Step 6: On the POP and IMAP Account Settingsscreen, you should configure the Bellsouth email settings.
  • Step 7:Under User Information, give a name for your Bellsouth email account and enter the email address.
  • Step 8:Under Server Information, choose either POPor IMAPfrom the Account typedrop-down menu.
  • Step 9:If you have chosen IMAP, enter ‘imap.att.net’ in the Incoming mail server field.
  • Step 10:Below Logon Information, enter the email address and password of your Bellsouth email account.
  • Step 11:Otherwise, enter ‘inbound.att.net’ in the Incoming mail server field (for POP).
  • Step 12:Next, enter ‘smtp.mail.att.net’ in the Outgoing mail server field.
  • Step 13: Click the More Settings button at the bottom-right corner to open the Internet Email Settings window.
  • Step 14: In the Outgoing Server tab, select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
  • Step 15: Also, enable the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button.
  • Step 16:Go to the Advanced tab and enter the server port number for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
  • Step 17: Make sure to select SSLfrom both the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down menus.
  • Step 18: Click OKand select Test Account Settingsto verify the configured Bellsouth email setup.
  • Step 19: Once the verification is complete, click Next –> Finish the Bellsouth email settings.
