  • On your WordPress main screen, click the Settings option that is available on the left-side panel.
  • Select WP Mail SMTP from the drop-down list.
  • In the Mail section, enter the email address that you wish to specify for the sender's identification in the From Email field. 
  • Also, enter the name in the From Name field for specifying the sender's name to configure Gmail Smtp in Wordpress.
  • Select the Gmail option from the Mailer field and select the checkbox in the "Return path" field if you wish to match the return path of your emails to the outgoing emails.
  • For the SMTP settings, input the below-mentioned server settings.
  • SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
  • SMTP Port: 465.
  • In the Encryption field, select the SSL(Secure Sockets Layer) encryption and enable the authentication for the Gmail SMTP.
  • In the Username field, enter your Gmail address.
  • In the Password field, type your Gmail account password.
  • After configuring the Gmail SMTP settings in WordPress, click the Save button to apply the settings.
