How To Fix 552 Message Size Exceeds Maximum Permitted Gmail?

  • You can only send file size upto 25 MB in Gmail attachments while sending an email.
  • If you attach a file that is larger than 25 MB, Gmail automatically uploads the file to your Google Drive and sends the download link along with your message.
  • While you are trying to upload an attachment that is larger than 25 MB, you will receive a notification on the screen that the attachment 552 message size exceeds maximum permitted Gmail error.
  • To upload files that exceed the maximum permitted limit, open Google Drive from your web browser.
  • Log in to your Google account and you will have 15 GB of free cloud storage space if you are using it for the first time.
  • Select My Drive and click the New folder option.
  • Now, you can upload your files to Google Drive.
  • Once you have uploaded the files to Google Drive, go to the Compose section in Gmail.
  • Add the recipient’s email address and subject. Click the Drive icon on the bottom of the message section.
  • You can now view all the files on your Google Drive account.
  • Choose the files you want to add as attachments to your email message. Then, click the Drive Link option.
  • Gmail will now add the download link to your email message in the body of your message. Then, click on the Send button.
  • When the recipient opens your email, they have to click on the link to view your attachments.
  • Another way to send large files is to compress them before attaching to the email.
  • Select the files you want to attach to your email message. Then, right-click them and select Send To.
  • Now, click the Compressed (zipped) folder option.
  • You can now attach the compressed folder to your email message and finally fix 552 message size exceeds maximum permitted Gmail error.
