The Mail app works as an email client on Apple devices, and you can add your email accounts to it. Fixes for the error:

1. Remove and re-add the account

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone and then select the Mail menu.
  • Tap the account name that you need to remove and scroll down to the Delete button to remove the account from the Mail app.
  • Now, return to the home screen and re-launch the Settings app.
  • Under the Mail menu, add the email account again and save the settings.
  • Retry sending the email, and then see if the error Apple mail cannot connect to server is occurs.

2. Check the internet service

  • Make sure the Apple device has good internet service and then try to send the email on the Mail app.
  • Contact the internet service provider and check the network service.

3. Restart the device

  • At times, the status may be preventing the app from connecting to the mail server.
  • Turn off the device and after a few minutes, power it on.
  • Now, see if the Mail app can connect to the server.

4. Move the emails to another folder

  • Go to the Mail app on the Apple device and create a new folder.
  • Next, open the folder with the emails which you were unable to access.
  • Select the emails and click the Move option to move the emails to the newly created folder.
  • After that, navigate to the new folder and open the emails.
