You may face such connection issues on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when you attempt to open the Apple Mail. When the connection to the server has failed, you won’t receive any emails. Step 1: Checking the internet connection

  • If you receive the error Apple mail connection to server failed, first check the internet connection.
  • In case you are using a Wi-Fi network, verify whether the connection is stable.
  • You may also receive the connection error if the internet connection is too slow.

Step 2: Reboot your iPhone

  • Press the Power button and Home button together and hold them until you see the Apple icon on the screen. This process will restart your iPhone.
  • Once the iPhone reboots, tap the Mail app.
  • Check whether you can send or receive mails.

Step 3: Remove and re-add your Mail account

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings.
  • Select the Passwords & Accounts section and choose your Apple mail account.

  • Go to Settings and touch the Mail, Contacts, Calendars section.
  • Now, enter your account credentials to log in to your Apple Mail.

Step 4: Changing the Mail password

  • If the issue persists, you can try changing the Mail password.
  • If you can’t open the Mail app to change your password, open your browser and log in to your Apple Mail account.
  • You can also click the Forgot password link and continue with the on-screen instructions to reset the password.

Step 5: Reset the Network settings.

  • If you have tried all the above steps, yet the problem persists, then reset the network settings to fix the issue.
  • You can swipe-up on the homescreen to find the Settings icon.
  • Open Settings and select the General section.
  • Tap Reset and choose the Reset Network Settings option from the displayed list.
  • Enter the password you have set on your iPhone to reset the settings.
  • Restart your iPhone, and the connection issue will be resolved.
