How To Fix Gmail is Not Working in Chrome Browser? 

Google Chrome is one of the globe’s most preferred web browser, best-known for its speed and user-friendly features. You will find any content using the Google chrome easily, without much of redirections, but as in every other application or browser, it is not completely free from errors. In some cases Gmail is not working in chrome, there have been reports from some users across the globe that they are not able to access Gmail in Chrome.

But before you proceed with the proper troubleshooting steps, perform the following actions. 

  • Restart your computer and check if it resolves the error Gmail is not working in chrome.
  • Disable the unwanted extensions and plug-ins in Google chrome.
  • Make sure you download and install the latest version of Google Chrome, click the gear icon on the top extreme corner of the screen, and select About Google Chrome.
  • A new tab will open, click Check for Updates button.

METHOD 1: OPEN GMAIL IN A PRIVATE WINDOW

  • Open the Google Chrome browser.
  • Click the three-dotted icon at the extreme right corner of the browser, near the 
  • Select the incognito window.
  • You can also open the incognito window from the shortcut keys. (Ctrl + Shift + N)
  • Enter the Gmail URL in the address bar of the incognito window and press the Enter button.
  • See if Gmail opens. Proceed to the next method if the error continues.

METHOD 2: CLEAR COOKIES AND CACHE

  • Launch the Google Chrome browser.
  • Click the three-dotted icon on the extreme right corner of the browser near the address bar.
  • Select the Settings option from the list.
  • The Settings tab will open, scroll to the Privacy and security section.
  • Click the Clear browsing data option.
  • Select the checkbox beside cookies and other site data and cached images and files.
  • Click the Clear Data button.

METHOD 3: CHECK GMAIL LABS

  • When you get to open Gmail, click the three-dotted icon at the top-right corner of the screen.
  • Select Settings and click Labs Tab.
  • Disable the lab’s options one by one and click Save Changes at the bottom of the settings tab.

METHOD 4: RESET CHROME

  • Resetting the browser will always fix specific issues like mail is not working in chrome. There is no harm in resetting your Google Chrome browser.
  • Open the Google Chrome browser.
  • Click the three-dotted icon on the extreme right corner of the screen.
  • Click the Settings option and select Advanced.
  • Scroll to the Reset and clean up section. Click the Reset button.
  • The Reset settings prompt will open, click the Reset Settings button to confirm.

METHOD 5: CHECK BROWSER EXTENSIONS OR APPLICATIONS

The extensions and the add-ons you have installed in your browser will stop the chrome browser from accessing certain websites, and Gmail might be one of them.

Follow the steps to disable extensions in Google chrome:

  • Open the Google Chrome browser.
  • Click the three-dotted icon at the extreme right corner of the window.
  • Click more Tools and select the Extensions option.
  • Click the checkbox to disable the extension. You can also click the trash icon next to the extension to delete.
  • In the Chrome address bar, enter the URL chrome://plugins to have a look at the installed plug-ins in your browser.
  • Click the Disable button under each plug-in you want to disable if your Gmail is not working in chrome.
