Step 2 - Storage space

  • If the storage space on the smartphone is not enough to update the Gmail application, you have to clear it. To do this, carry out the quick steps mentioned below.
  • Android mobile phone - Go to Settings -> Apps & Notification -> See all apps.
  • Search for the unused application, select it, and tap the Uninstall option.
  • iPhone - Find the unused application on the home screen of your iPhone.
  • Tap and hold the application until you see all the icons on the screen shake.
  • Tap the cross icon to uninstall the application from the iPhone.
  • Alternatively, go to the Settings screen and tap General -> iPhone Storage.
  • Select the application that you want to uninstall and tap the Delete app option.
  • Confirm the same by tapping the Delete app option again.
  • You can even remove the downloaded files and images from the smartphone to clear some storage space.

Restarting your device
