Intermittent Access to Email 

Sometimes, the email message that you had sent to a recipient may revert to you with an intermittent access error. In case of such an issue, Instead of sending the email, the server returns it to the sender. In this scenario, try some of the possible ways discussed below to solve the intermittent access error.

  • First, ensure that you have configured your Gmail account settings correctly.
  • Then, check if your computer is connected to a stable internet connection.
  • If required, switch to a different ISP.

Solution 1: Sign out and sign in back into your Gmail account

  • Signing out and logging in back may solve the intermittent access error.
  • Click on your Gmail account profile icon. 
  • Select the Sign out option.
  • Wait for a few minutes.
  • Sign in to your Gmail account.
  • Try to send the email message.

Solution 2: Close your web browser and clear its cache & cookies

  • Clear your web browser’s cache and cookies by following the instructions given below.
  • Click the More icon available at the top right corner of the web browser window.
  • Select the More tools option followed by Clear browsing data.
  • Choose a time change from the given drop-down menu.
  • Click the Clear data button.
  • Wait for all caches and cookies of your web browser to clear.
  • Close the browser and restart your computer.
  • Launch the browser and navigate to the official Gmail site.
  • Log in to your Gmail account and try to send the email message.
