Rectifying Outlook Printing Problems 

At times, you may not be able to print from your Outlook app, and there might be several factors causing the issue. Keep reading to know how to resolve the Outlook printing problems.

Solution 1: Rebooting The Print Spooler Service
  • On your Windows computer, open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows + R shortcut keys.
  • Type ‘services’ in the Run dialog box and hit the Enter key to open Windows Services.
  • In the Services window, locate the Print Spooler service from the displayed list.
  • Give a double-click on it and select the ‘services’ option.
  • Type ‘%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers’ in the address bar and hit the Enter key.
  • Select all the files stored in the folder by pressing the Ctrl + A shortcut keys.
  • After selecting all the files from the folder, press the Delete button.
  • After deleting the files, go back to the Services window and restart the Print Spooler service.
  • This will fix the Outlook printing problems

Solution 2: Updating The Printer Driver

  • You need to open the Device Manager first.
  • Go to Printer options and select the printer that is causing the printing problems in the Outlook app.
  • After selecting the printer, select the Update Driver option.
  • After updating the printer driver, launch the Outlook app and try printing an email to check if the problem has been resolved.

Solution 3: Renaming The OutlPrnt File

  • On your Windows, close the Outlook app if it is running.
  • Open the file explorer and type ‘%appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook’ in the address bar to locate the OutlPrnt file.
  • Give a right-click on the OutlPrnt file and select Rename.
  • Give some other appropriate name to the file and open the Outlook app to check if you can print without any Outlook printing problems.

Solution 4: Checking Add-Ins

  • Restart your Windows computer and enter into Safe mode.
  • Launch the Outlook app in Safe mode and click the File tab at the top-left corner of the screen.
  • Select Options from the drop-down menu and click on Add-Ins.
  • Disable the active Add-Ins one by one and restart your Outlook app. Check if the printing problem has been resolved.
  • If the Outlook printing problems persists, convert the message or email to HTML if you have been using Rich or Plain Text.
