Method 1: Check Your Network Connection

Check whether Outlook is connected to your email server. Go to the lower right corner of the Outlook window. If it says Disconnected, Working Offline, or Trying to connect, you are not connected to your email server. Follow the given instructions to connect Outlook to your server.

  • Step 1:Click on the Send/Receive tab on the ribbon.
  • Step 2:In the Preferences group, select Work Offline. You should now see the Connected to Server message on your window.
  • Step 3:Click the Send/Receive All Folders button in the Send and Receive group.
  • Step 4:Check whether the issue is resolved. If not, carry on to the following methods.

Method 2: Check For Any Error Message

A communication issue between Outlook and your outgoing mail server can result in such an issue. If you’ve received an error message while sending an email in Outlook, try to contact your Internet Service Provider and make sure there is no block in the port number used by your outgoing mail server.

Method 3: Resend The Message

  • Step 1:Go to your Outlook outbox folder and right-click on the stuck email.
  • Step 2:Select Move and choose the Drafts folder.
  • Step 3:Find and launch the email in the Drafts folder and select Send.
  • Step 4:Check to see if the message is now in the Sent folder.

Method 4: Repair The Outlook Application

  • Step 1:Close the applications that are running on your computer.
  • Step 2:Go to the Windows search box and type Apps & Features.
  • Step 3:Find and click on Microsoft Office in the list of installed apps and features.
  • Step 4:Choose Modify > Yes > Online repair > Repair.
  • Step 5:The repair process will now begin on Outlook. Complete the process and restart your Outlook application
