Outlook Shared Calendar Permissions Not Working  

The Outlook calendar helps to keep track of important dates, appointments, and events. In addition, it also has a sharing function. Sometimes, the sharing function might not work on Outlook. A few of the reasons for this Outlook shared calendar permissions not working problem are given here:

Here are the steps to resolve the Outlook shared calendar permissions not working problem on Outlook.

Solution 1 - Clear cache using the Outlook Data file

Step 1

  • Exit all instances related to Microsoft.
  • Launch the File Explorer window.

Step 2

  • Type ‘%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook’ in the address bar and press Enter.
  • Search for your Outlook data file and delete it.

Step 3

  • Close the File Explorer window.
  • Check if the problem has been resolved. If it persists, go to Solution 2.

Solution 2 -  Disable Cached Exchange Mode In Outlook

Step 1

Launch the Microsoft Outlook client.

Step 2

Navigate to the File tab and choose Account Settings.

Step 3

Double-click your email account and click the Advanced tab.

Step 4

  • Deselect the checkbox beside the ‘Use Cached Exchange Mode’ option if it has been selected.
  • Deselect the ‘Download shared folders’ option.

Step 5

  • Save the changes by clicking the OK option.
  • If needed, optimize the sharing of calendars by creating different (group) calendars. There might also be a risk of sharing all information with others. In such cases, you can use the Privacy Locking’ feature to make some events confidentially.
