How To Fix Thunderbird Update Problems?

The Thunderbird email client program has a software updater feature that automatically updates the app. Mostly you will receive a prompt when an update is available. But, some users are facing the Thunderbird update problems recently.

You can consider the steps that are given below to fix the Thunderbird update issues.

  • Step 1:If any user account is logged in with Thunderbird running in the background, the update error may occur.
  • Step 2:Check whether any other users have logged in to your computer. In such a case, you have to restart your computer.
  • Step 3:When the computer reboots, open the Thunderbird application.
  • Step 4:Click the Help menu and select the Check for Updates option from the displayed list.
  • Step 5:If you are unable to update Thunderbird, check the Internet connection.
  • Step 6:Make sure that you have a network connection that is fast enough to update Thunderbird.
  • Step 7:If there are any issues with the network, connect your device to a mobile hotspot network.
  • Step 8:Now, open Thunderbird and check if the Thunderbird update problems is resolved.
  • Step 9:If the update issue is still not resolved, then you can manually end the Thunderbird process from Task Manager.
  • Step 10:Press the Ctrl+Shit+Esc buttons together to launch the Task Manager window.
  • Step 11:If the Thunderbird process is active, click the Processes tab.
  • Step 12:Now, select the Thunderbird process and click on the End Process button.
  • Step 13:When the Task Manager Warning dialog box appears, click Yes.
  • Step 14:Press the Start menu and type Thunderbird.
  • Step 15:Right-click on the Mozilla Thunderbird option and select the Run as Administrator option from the displayed list.
  • Step 16:When the User Account Control access appears, click on the Continue button.
  • Step 17:If the issue persists, open the Task Manager window again.
  • Step 18:Go to the Services section and choose the AeLookupSvc - Application Experience service. Click on the Start button.
  • Step 19:If you can’t start it, enable Application Experience from msconfig.
  • Step 20:Restart your computer and open Thunderbird to update it.
  • Step 21:You can now easily update the Thunderbird software and sucessfully fixed your Thunderbird update problems.
