  • Step 1:Sign in to your Yahoo account using the correct credentials.
  • Step 2:On the Yahoo Mail page, click the Settings icon on the top right corner and then click Account info.
  • Step 3:If prompted to sign in to your account, sign in.
  • Step 4:A new page will open, and you’ve to click Account security.
  • Step 5:Scroll down and click Manage app password.
  • Step 6:On the next pop-up page, click the Select your app drop-down box and then choose Outlook Desktop from the list. Now, click Generate.

  • Step 1:Open the Outlook app on your Windows computer.
  • Step 2:Click Files on the top left corner of the window.
  • Step 3:Click Account Settings and then click New.
  • Step 4:On the next screen, select the Manual setup or additional server types radio button and then click Next.
  • Step 5:On the Choose Service screen, select the radio button for POP or IMAP and then click Next.
  • Step 6:On the POP and IMAP Account Settings screen, type your name in the Your Name text field and your Yahoo mail id in the Email Address text field.
  • Step 7:Below Server Information, click the Account Type drop-down box and select IMAP.
  • Step 8:In the Incoming mail server text filed, type imap.mail.yahoo.com.
  • Step 9:In the Outgoing mail server settings (smtp), type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
  • Step 10:Below Logon Information, type the user name in the User Name text field.
  • Step 11:Type the app password (the one generated in Yahoo Mail) in the Password text field.
  • Step 12:If necessary, select the check box for Remember password.
  • Step 13:Now, click More Settings.
  • Step 14:Click the Outgoing Server tab and then select the check box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • Step 15:Next, select the radio button for Use same settings as my incoming mail server and then click OK.
  • Step 16:Click the Advanced tab and type ‘993’ in the Incoming server (IMAP) text box. Next, select SSL from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down box.
  • Step 17:Now, type ‘587’ in the Outgoing server (SMTP) text box and then select TLS from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down box.
  • Step 18:Click OK to close the dialog box.
  • Step 19:Click Next, and the Yahoo email server will send a test email; once you receive the test email, click Finish.
