How To Send An E-mail From A Different E-mail Address In Outlook

The Outlook e-mail client is used by millions of people to send, receive, and manage their e-mail accounts. This e-mail client not only offers a mailing service but also comes with some cool functions like task managing, control managing, note-taking, journal logging, and web browsing. These functions attract more people towards Outlook than to any other e-mail client.  Using Outlook, you can manage your multiple e-mail accounts easily on a single platform. But, what about sending an e-mail message from an account that is not associated with the one that you have opened. This page explains how to send an e-mail message from a different e-mail address in Outlook.  NOTE: The following instructions are suitable for Office 365, Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019.  Usually, when you compose a new e-mail message in Outlook, the address of the account that you have signed in will appear in the From field. Now, if you have multiple accounts configured in the Outlook application, and wish to send the message from a different e-mail address from the signed-in account, then you can edit the From field to perform it. The following instructions explain the same. 

How To Send An E-mail From A Different E-mail Address In Outlook
  • Step 1:First, make sure that you have opened a new message dialog box in the Outlook application.
  • Step 2:Next, locate and click on the From option in the Header section. In case the From option is not displayed in the header section, then click Options > Show Fields > From.
  • Step 3:Now, click the drop-down icon beside the From option.
  • Step 4:Select the alternative e-mail address that you wish to use for sending the mail from the list.
  • Step 5:If the e-mail address you’re looking for is not listed, then click on the Other E-mail Address option available at the bottom of the list. Type the desired e-mail address in the field that appears on the screen. Click OK.
  • Step 6:Now, compose the e-mail message of your desire and click on the Send button. 

Congratulations! You have successfully sent an e-mail message from a different e-mail address in Outlook.

  • Step 2:Select the View all Outlook settings option. 
  • Step 3:Choose Mail > Sync email > Set default From address.
  • Step 4:Now, from the list, select the desired e-mail address that you wish to set as default and click on the Save button.
