How to send a Secure Email in Outlook Subject Line?

Encryption of an email message is the process of protecting your confidential data from being read by onlookers trying to get hold of your email message. The sensitive information might be related to social society numbers, passwords, login credentials, and bank account numbers. Send a secure email in Outlook subject line is essential because it protects your sensitive information from a data breach. The hacker cannot read your secured email even if they get to access the email you sent. Only the recipient has access to read the email message. Proceed with one of these methods to secure an email in Outlook.

Method 1 - Adding the ‘Secure’ word in the subject field.

  • Open the Outlook email client on your computer.
  • Type ‘[secure]’ or ‘Secure:’ without including the single quotes in the Subject field along with your subject line. it help to send a secure email in Outlook subject line.
  • Compose an email message, fill the To field with the recipient email address, and click the Send button to send a secure email.
  • Note: Only the body of the email message is secured and encrypted. But, the subject line is not encrypted. So, it is better not to include any sensitive information in the subject line while sending the email message.

Method 2 - Using the Send Securely option (Outlook for the Windows OS)

  • Compose a new email message.
  • Make sure to fill the To field with the email address of the recipient.
  • If necessary, fill the CC and BCC fields.
  • Once done, click the Send Securely button at the upper-left corner of the screen.
  • Send the composed email message by clicking the Send button.
