How To Stop iPad And iPhone Syncing?

If you have signed into iCloud on your iPhone and iPad by utilizing the same Apple ID, there will be automatic syncing between both these devices. Now, focus on the options for which you don’t need to sync data between your iPhone and iPad. Turn off the toggle switches next to those options. Otherwise, you can disable the switches in front of all the options.

To Stop Syncing Specific Data Between iPhone And iPad:

If you wish to stop specific data from getting synced between the iPhone and iPad, follow these steps:

1. Disabling Syncing Of Website History:

  • Step 1:In the Apps Using iCloud section, turn off the toggle switch in front of the Safari option. This action will also prevent the syncing of bookmarks and open tabs between your iPhone and iPad.

2. Disabling Syncing Of Text Messages:

  • Step 1:In the Apps Using iCloud section, turn off the toggle switch in front of the Messages option.

3. Disabling Text Message Forwarding:

In case the SMS received on your iPhone is also getting displayed on the iPad, follow these instructions:

  • Step 1:On the iPhone, launch the Settings app.
  • Step 2:Choose the Messages option.
  • Step 3:Go to Text Message Forwarding.
  • Step 4:You can see the name of your iPad on the list that is displayed. Now, turn off the toggle switch in front of the iPad’s name.
