  • Once you select the Account Settings option from its drop-down menu, the Account Settings dialog window will appear on the screen.
  • Click the Email tab and then select the New option. Now, the Choose Service dialog window will open.
  • Select the radio button beside the ‘Microsoft Exchange, POP3, or IMAP’ option and click the Next button.
  • Once you select the radio button next to the ‘Manually configure server settings or additional server types’ option, click Next in the Auto Account Setup dialog window.
  • This will start the manual email configuration.
  • If you see the Choose Service dialog box again, select the Internet Email option and click Next.
  • Provide valid details in the following fields.
  • Your Name
  • Email Address
  • Incoming Mail Server
  • Outgoing Mail Server
  • User Name
  • Password
  • If you want the Microsoft Outlook 2010 application to save the password, select the Remember Password option.
  • Make sure to choose the POP3 protocol from the Account Type drop-down menu.
  • Go to the ‘Deliver new messages’ section and select the ‘New Outlook Data File’ option.
  • Click the Outgoing Server tab, mark the box next to the ‘My outgoing server requires authentication’ option, and click the radio button beside the ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’ option.
  • Move to the Advanced tab, change the required server settings, and close the email configuration wizard.
  • If this solution does not fix the problem, create a new Outlook profile and add your email account on the Microsoft Outlook 2010 application.
