Office 365 Mailbox Delegate Full Access Not Working

Microsoft Outlook has many user-friendly features including Delegate Access using which you can give someone permission to access your emails. When Delegate Access is enabled, a user whom you have authorized can reply to meeting requests or send emails on your behalf. You can also use the Delegate Access feature in Office 365 Exchange Admin Center. If the Office 365 mailbox delegate full access not working, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Solution 1: Use Windows PowerShell To Check The Mailbox Data

  • Step 1:First, launch Windows PowerShell with administrator rights.
  • Step 2:Type the ‘Add-MailboxPermission –Identity “Mailbox name” –User “Mailbox Name” –AccessRights FullAccess’ command in the PowerShell window. This command will enable the user to access full permissions.

Solution 2: Add a User For Mailbox Delegation

  • Step 1:This method resolves errors in sending emails on behalf of other users.
  • Step 2:To begin with, log in to your Office 365 Exchange Admin Center.
  • Step 3:Next, click on Recipients and double-click the profile name.
  • Step 4:Select the Shared option and click on Mailbox delegation.
  • Step 5:Now, add the user under the Send As option.

Solution 3: Repairing Outlook

  • Step 1:If you are not able to send emails with Delegate Access enabled in Microsoft Outlook, follow these steps to fix the issue.
  • Step 2:On your computer, launch Microsoft Outlook by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.
  • Step 3:Head to the top-left corner and click the File menu.
  • Step 4:Select Info from the left-side panel and click the Account Settings tab twice.
  • Step 5:In the Account Settings window, click the Email tab.
  • Step 6:Choose your email account from the displayed list and click the Repair tab.
  • Step 7:Follow the on-screen prompts and repair your Outlook mailbox.
  • Step 8:Once you are done, restart the Outlook app.
  • Step 9:If the Office 365 mailbox delegate full access not working, move on to the next solution.

Solution 4: Run Windows Update

  • Step 1:Launch the Settings app by pressing the Windows + I shortcut keys.
  • Step 2:Click the Update & security tab in the Settings window and select Windows Update from the left-side panel.
  • Step 3:On the right-side panel, click the Check for updates button and wait until the system searches for the available updates.
  • Step 4:If the updates are available for your Windows computer, install them.
  • Step 5:When you are done, restart your computer.
  • Step 6:Launch the Outlook app and check if Office 365 mailbox delegate full access is working.
