Outlook Keeps Disconnecting From Exchange

The Outlook email client helps you to access your Exchange server emails. However, many users have encountered an issue where Outlook gets disconnected from the Exchange server. There might be several reasons for this issue. Here, we shall see a few troubleshooting methods to fix the issue if Outlook keeps disconnecting from Exchange.

Method 1: Restart your computer Settings

The immediate solution to fix the Outlook disconnection issue would be to restart Outlook on your computer.

Also, restart your computer.

Now, launch Outlook and check if you are able to access your Exchange server emails.

Method 2: Check the connection to the server

If Outlook disconnects, immediately check whether you are able to connect to the Exchange server.

Open the Command Prompt window on your computer.
Type ‘ping ’ and press Enter.
If you see a message that states request timeout, then you have to fix the connection issue between your computer and the Exchange server.
However, if you don’t see such a message, then there is no connection issue.

Method 3: Update Outlook and configure settings

Check if the Outlook email client is updated to the latest version. If it is outdated, then update the client. Then configure the following settings.

Open the Outlook email client.
Click the File menu and choose the Account Settings option.
Again, select the Account Settings option.
Now, from the list of email accounts configured in Outlook, click on the Exchange account.
Click the More Settings button and go to the Security tab.
Now, check if you have selected the ‘Encrypt data between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange’ option.
Relaunch Outlook and check if the issue has been fixed.
If the issue occurs again, right-click the Outlook icon in the notification area and select Connection Status.
Now, click the Reconnect option now the Outlook keeps disconnecting from Exchange issue is solved.
