Outlook Send Email At Specific Time

Outlook has the option of scheduling an email so that it can be sent later when you want. You can hold the delivery of a particular email or you can use certain rules to delay all your emails by holding them for up to two hours in your Outbox. And the Outlook send email at specific time.

Outlook Send Email At Specific Time

In the following section, we shall see the procedure to send emails at a specific time in Outlook.

  • Step 1:First, open the Outlook email client and click New Email to open the compose window.
  • Step 2:Compose a new email message.
  • Step 3:Click Delay Delivery in the Options tab. This will open a Properties dialog box.
  • Step 4:Select the date and time in the Delivery options section of the Properties dialog box and don't forget to enable the Do not deliver before checkbox.
  • Step 5:Once done, click Close to close the Properties dialog box.
  • Step 6:Click on the Send button in the compose window.
  • Step 7:Now, the message will be moved to the Outbox and will be sent to the recipient later as you have scheduled.

You have now seen the steps to send an email at a specific time in Outlook. However, if you have scheduled an email already but want to send it immediately, then,

  • Step 1:Go to the Outbox folder in Outlook.
  • Step 2:Choose the email you want to send immediately using the Outlook send email at specific time option.
  • Step 3:Open the email and as you did to schedule the email, click the Options tab and then click Delay Delivery. This will again open the Properties window, where you can reschedule the delivery of your email.

Create a rule to delay all your email:

Like delaying the delivery of a specific email in Outlook, you can delay the delivery for all your emails by creating a rule.

  • Step 1:Open Outlook and click the File menu.
  • Step 2:Click on Info followed by Rules and Alerts.
  • Step 3:Now, select the Manage Rules & Alerts option.
  • Step 4:In the Rules and Alerts dialog box, click New Rule.
  • Step 5:In the Rules Wizard that opens, click the Apply rule on messages I send in the Start from a blank rule section and click Next.
  • Step 6:Select a rule you wish and proceed with the prompts to create the rule.
  • Step 7:Now, whenever you compose and send a new email message, it will be moved to the Outbox folder and will be sent according to the rule you have created. This is the process for Outlook send email at specific time.
