Change the system manager PIN

  • On the control panel of the Canon printer, navigate to Menu and select the Management Settings option.
  • Choose the User Management option followed by the System Manager Information Settings option and select the System Manager ID and PIN option.

Firmware update

  • Get the firmware update file from the official Canon website.
  • Locate the downloaded file in the Downloads folder and double-click it.

  • Select the Settings/Registration option in the right panel
  • Navigate to the Function Settings section and click the Send option in the left panel.
  • In the main panel, go to the Common Settings section and click the ‘Network Settings - Email/Fax Settings link.
  • Provide the SMTP server name and email address of your email account in the respective fields.
  • Select Allow SSL -> Use SMTP Authentication.
  • After filling in the required fields, click the OK option at the upper-right corner of the screen to save them.
  • Now, try to perform the Scan to Email function on the Canon printer.
