Server Did Not Responding While Sending Email?

You cannot send emails if the server did not responding while sending email. Carry out the troubleshooting instructions to resolve the SMTP server not responding issue.

Internet connection:

  • At first, check if the device is connected to a stable internet connection.
  • The emails might not be sent if the internet connection is unstable.
  • The Wi-Fi feature on the device must be enabled. If needed, disconnect the internet connection and reconnect it after some time.

SMTP server details:

  • If the SMTP server details you have entered while manually configuring your email account are wrong, you cannot send the emails if the server did not responding while sending email.
  • Open the email client that you are using on the device and then check if the SMTP details are correct.
  • If the SMTP details are entered wrongly, change them with the correct information.
  • Now, check if the SMTP server is responding by sending the emails.
  • If not, proceed further.

Username and password:

  • One of the common mistakes done by the user is entering the incorrect username and password.
  • Ensure that the Caps lock is on or off and then type the password. This will avoid the incorrect password problem.
  • Once you enter the username and password, double-check them.

SMTP server connection:

If you come across any SMTP error code, then try to resolve it and send the email from the email client.

SMTP port:

  • By default, the SMTP port is set as 25. But, few ISPs block this port due to the increase in the spam traffic.
  • It is better to set 587 or 465 as the SMTP port.

Antivirus or firewall settings:

  • The SMTP server settings might create a conflict with the antivirus or firewall program running on your device.
  • When you face issues in sending emails from your computer, disable the antivirus or firewall program and check if you can send the emails.
  • If necessary, remove the antivirus or firewall program from the device to resolve the SMTP server not responding problem.
