The email signature feature in Microsoft Outlook adds an extra layer of attraction to your emails. Solution 1: Uninstall Microsoft Office Desktop Apps

  • Step 1: On your Windows 10 computer, click the Windows icon at the bottom-left corner of the desktop.
  • Step 2: Open the Settings app by clicking the Settings icon from the Start menu.
  • Step 3: Alternatively, press the Windows + I shortcut keys to launch the Settings app.
  • Step 4: Click the Apps tab in the Settings window.
  • Step 5: Select the Apps & Features menu from the left-side panel.
  • Step 6: Under Apps & Features, locate and select Microsoft Office Desktop Apps.
  • Step 7: Click the Uninstall button to remove the duplicate of Outlook from your computer.
  • Step 8: Alternatively, you can remove Microsoft Office Desktop Apps from your computer using Windows PowerShell.
  • Step 9: Now, restart your computer and launch the Outlook app.
  • Step 10: Check if you can edit your signature in Outlook 2016.

Solution 2: Edit the Windows Registry

  • Step 1: To begin with, launch the Run command box by pressing the Windows + R shortcut keys.
  • Step 2: Input ‘regedit’ in the Run dialog box and click OK to open the Registry Editor.
  • Step 3: In the Registry Editor window, go to Computer –> HKEY_CURRENT_USER –> Software –> Microsoft –> Office –> 14.0 –> Common –> MailSettings.
  • Step 4: Give a right-click on the NewSignature entry and select the Delete option.
  • Step 5: Once you have deleted the email signature entry from the Registry Editor window, restart your computer.
  • Step 6: Launch the Outlook app and check if you can edit the email signature.
